Animation Projects
My animation projects focus on practicing and learning the fundamentals of animation. Using 3D animation software, I aim to display elements like squash and stretch, animation timing, and weight.
Walk Cycle Project
The goal of this project was to create a simple walk cycle that expresses personality through movement. In animation, the walk cycle is fundamental to defining a character’s personality; elements like weight, timing, and speed visually communicate emotion and attitude.

Obstacle Course Projects
The way objects interact with each other plays a major part in making animation feel real. These projects highlight interaction, physics, and exaggeration.
Storyboard Project
In my storyboards I aim to convey narrative flow, communicate creative direction, and bring concepts to life during the preproduction pipeline.
Early concepts
The prompt behind this scene was “A monster emerges from within its shipping crate .” In the early concept phase I thought about all the ways I could approach this concept. Through this process I drew out several thumbnails that I eventually narrowed down over time to the best ones.
First Iteration Construction
The idea I settled on took inspiration from films like Nosferatu and The Last Voyage of the Demeter. In which, vampires cross the ocean in shipping crates and eventually cause mass destruction to the crews of the ships that hey ride.
First Iteration
The main purpose of the first iteration was to lay out the environment, perspective, and placement of objects within the scene. The idea behind this storyboard was to show the aftermath of our main vampire massacring nearby crew members after awaking from his slumber.
Character Design
To improve the scene I went back and redesigned the monster to make him easier to draw and to make him more striking.
Posing Test
After the redesign I utilized lines of action to test out various poses that I could potentially use in the final drawing.
Second Iteration
The second iteration adds the redesigned character as well a few additional elements to indicate action and movement.
Final Iteration With Values
The final iteration adds values to the scene, giving it a general sense of light using various shades of gray.
Posing
Posing
In animation, strong poses can convey a range of emotions without the need for dialogue or description. The clarity of a pose communicates intent, attitude, and feeling at a glance, allowing the audience to understand the character’s thoughts and motivations through body language alone.
